Photonics in Finland. ASML plans for slow business. Ayar Labs and Lockheed Martin to partner.
Photonics Precision Technologies - Precision with Light (Business Edition 5)
This site has changed its name. It is now called Precision with Light. The Photonics Precision Technologies is another substack of this publication, where mainly research and/or professional training topics will be presented, analyzed and discussed. Precision with Light is the Business section substack, but the Photonics industry theme, its issues and developments, will continued to have its centre stage.
In today’s edition I will again read and share thoughts about three photonics developments or trends from the last few weeks or months. The first one of the these insights goes into a journey
to Finland’s Photonics industry ecosystems, where Carlos Lee, EPIC (European Photonics Industry Consortium)'s Director General went and talked with one of its major protagonist figure.
I will then look into why and how ASML is planning for contigencies in their business after a forecast of a slowing economic and business results period. Interesting article to read to undertand better the photonics business industry, and one of its major business representative (mainly in photolithography and semiconductor manufacturing), from a recessive economic conditions prespective.
Finally today I give the readers/subscribers some detail about a recent announcement of a business partnership between Ayar Labs and US defence contractor, aerospace and security public company, Lockheed Martin. Ayar Labs is an important business operating in optical I/O microchips interconnects and semiconductor components products.
